  You'll find this to be a very important feature and money saver. When shopping for a washer, you'll want to purchase one with a "high spin speed".

  Basically, the higher the spin speed, the more water that’s going to be pulled out of your clothes. This means less time and power use will be required by your dryer reducing your utility costs.

• Water Options

  The more water options your washer has the better. This way you can match the right amount of water needed based on amount of clothes your loading.

• Energy Star

  Energy star washers will cut your power consumption by at least 35%.

  In fact, full-size energy star certified washers use 16-25 gallons of water per load. If you compare this to a non-certified machine which uses approximately 40 gallons, the difference is huge.

  If you take a look at this, you’ll see two key factors to look for in energy efficient washers.

  First, take a quick look at "EF" (Energy Factor). EF measures the overall power efficiency of the washer. The higher the energy factor, the more energy efficient the unit is.

  Now, take a look at the "water factor" column. The water factor tells you how much water the unit uses to do its job. The lower this number, the more power efficient the washer is.
