Frugal Homemaker Money Saving Tips

As a frugal Mom (or Dad – that’s me), I can tell you the key to maintaining your home as cost effectively as possible will be to focus more on needs than wants. You’ll find that staying organized is also key; time is money. Below, are proven frugal homemaker tips that will save you a bundle:
  • Canned preserves
  • Make your own bread. We use a bread maker; it’s simple and tastes great
  • Sewing. Sewing keeps your clothes around longer so you spend less
  • Re-use rags. Don’t throw them away if they’re dirty. They can be washed and used over again
  • Clothes-line. This saves on your dryer costs
  • Clean up messes as soon as you make them; otherwise things accumulate and you’ll have to deal with clutter
  • Have a home cleaning schedule. For example, we do laundry Wednesday’s and Saturday’s, vacuuming on Thursdays, etc.
  • Frugal meals that are big money savers
  • Empty milk containers. You can use them for funnels when changing your oil, scooping poop, storing beverages such as lemonade.
