Fun Halloween Recipes

by Jennifer
(Comstock Park, Mi)

A fun Halloween Recipe that we make every Halloween for dinner is "Mummy Dogs". Saying its simple and fast doesn't even describe how easy these are to make. You simply use refrigerated hot dogs, bread stick dough, like Pillsbury brand or other, and a little bit of mustard. Simple as that.

First, take the bread sticks and slice them long way with a knife into long strips. Then you take 1 strip and wrap that strip around the hot dog from top to bottom looking like a mummy wrapping. Be sure to leave one small gap at the top to be able to go back and put a "face" on the mummy dog.

After all of the hot dogs are wrapped with the slices of bread sticks, place then on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake them in the oven at the temperature and for the amount of time that is written on the bread sticks tube.

Once you are done baking your mummy dogs, take them out of the oven and let them slightly cool on a wire cooling rack. Once the mummy dogs have cooled for a few minutes, with mustard make 2 small eyes and a mouth in the gap that you left showing between the mummy layers on the hot dog. If you wish to dip it in Ketchup or any other seasoning feel free, or simply enjoy plain with just the mustard eyes.

Kids of all ages really enjoy this Halloween meal!
