Save Money As A Thrifty Mom

by Kgrim
(Fayetteville, WV, USA)

It is very hard with the economy the way it is today to be a stay at home mom. It is for some people hard enough to live off of two incomes.

If you have a few minutes of spare time you could save yourself a few dollars. The 1st thing you can do is start by clipping coupons. I know it doesn’t sound all that great but if you take 20 minutes out of your Sunday morning to look through the advertisements you could end up saving quite a bit on your grocery bill. Mix up your shopping menu with advertised items and utilize the stores saver cards.

Shop around at thrift stores especially if you have a little one. You know babies don’t usually “wear out” their clothing so you can really find some great prices on practically brand new clothes toy and gear. There are also a lot of people who change their fashion or grow out of their clothes. You never know you may find something you like.

Look for ways to cut down on your house bills. Ask yourself if you actually watch all the cable channels you pay every month for. Think about canceling or downgrading if it would be cheaper for you to occasionally rent a movie you want to see.

Your cell phone is another example. Look into your plan and think about what options you need and what options you might be able to downgrade. For example if you are at home a lot do you really need to pay for that internet package on your phone or can you settle for the computer in your home?

Another big one is if you have a landline phone. Think about cutting back and only paying for one phone. Chose between your cell phone and landline phone. Lastly, visit the web site of brands you use often. If you sign up to receive their newsletter via e-mail they will often send you great money saving coupons.
